Why facilities matter
Fusion Plating is multi-facility ready. Each physical plant is a facility record with its own:
- Address
- Compliance jurisdiction (Ontario vs. Quebec vs. state-specific US)
- Operating permits
- Staff assignments
- Work centres
- Tanks + baths
- Chemistry logs
- Certificates
Reports, KPIs, and audit packages filter per-facility. Multi-site customers see their parts distributed correctly.
Menu: Plating → Configuration → Facilities.
Creating a facility
Click + New:
| Field | What to set |
|---|---|
| Name | Plant name (e.g. "Mississauga Plant 1") |
| Code | Short code used in references (MIS1) |
| Address | Full civic address |
| Jurisdiction | Province/state — drives compliance module associations |
| Compliance Profile | Link to applicable compliance data (Ontario, Toronto bylaw, etc.) |
| Operating Hours | Days + shift structure |
| General Manager | Lead contact |
| Safety Officer | Lead EHS contact |
| Compliance Officer | Lead regulatory contact |
Linking work centres + tanks
Open the facility → Work Centres tab → Add. Every work centre belongs to one facility.
Tanks tab: physical tanks live at a facility. Baths live in tanks. So moving a bath between facilities means moving its tank.
Staff assignments
Operators default to their home facility. An operator can be authorized at multiple facilities but clocks in at one at a time.
Compliance isolation
Each facility has its own:
- Permit expiries
- Discharge sample history
- Waste manifest log
- Spill incident register
- SDS library (can be shared across facilities if chemistry is identical)
Reports
Facility selector in the top-left of every dashboard. Defaults to your home facility. Change to see sister plant.
What can go wrong
Operator can't clock in at a new facility
Check their employee record — are they assigned to this facility? Add, save, try again.
Compliance data showing wrong jurisdiction
Facility → Compliance Profile is wrong. Reset it — the data modules (compliance_on, compliance_tor, etc.) only attach when the profile says so.
Reports show parts at the wrong facility
Work order's work centre belongs to the wrong facility. Open the work centre, reassign. Historical reports will reflect the correction.
