What this view does
The Production Priorities list is the planner's sequencing screen. Every active Manufacturing Order shows up with its deadlines, assigned operators, and current state. Drag-reorder sets the priority queue the shop follows.
Menu: Plating → Operations → Production Priorities.

Box ① + New (rarely used; MOs come from SO confirmation). Box ② column header with deadline/priority filters. Box ③ click any row to open the MO.
Columns worth watching
| Column | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Priority | Drag-handle; top of list runs first |
| Customer | Who's waiting |
| Part | What |
| Qty | How many |
| Customer Deadline | Ship-by date (commitment_date) |
| Days to Deadline | Live countdown |
| State | Draft / Confirmed / Planned / Progress / Done |
| Planned Start / End | Scheduled work window |
| Assigned Operator | Who's owning it |
Daily routine
- Sort by Customer Deadline ascending — tightest dates first.
- Filter to active (exclude Done/Cancelled) — only see what still needs work.
- Scan for red (days-to-deadline < 3) — these are today's urgent queue.
- Re-order priorities — drag the most-urgent MOs to the top so the shop floor's queues match.
- Assign operators — for MOs without an operator, pick from the dropdown (auto-filtered to operators certified for the recipe).
Bulk actions
Tick multiple rows:
- Assign Operator — set a default operator for a batch.
- Change Work Centre — useful for re-balancing between stations.
- Postpone — push planned start date by N days.
Bottleneck spotting
Group by Work Centre (group-by dropdown) to see MO counts per station. Columns with stacked MOs show where the bottleneck is. Reassign some to alternate work centres or bring in overtime.
What can go wrong
MO shows no Customer Deadline
Either the SO had no Customer Deadline set, or the deadline is blank on the MO. Open the SO, set commitment_date, re-confirm. Or edit the MO's deadline directly.
Operator dropdown is empty for certain recipes
Operators need matching Operator Certifications (see guide). Without a cert, they can't be assigned. Send them through the training workflow.
Drag-reorder not sticking
Check permissions — only the Shop Manager or Planner group can change priorities. Regular users see the list read-only.
